Resources are organized by area of the metro. If you need support, have questions about lactation or feeding, or want to drop in to have your baby weighed, these places have great support for you! It may be good to check a couple of different areas, to find the closest location(s) to you.

    Minneapolis Indigenous Breastfeeding Circle

    Boozhoo everyone! This page is dedicated to Native/Indigenous pregnant and lactating people, doulas, and supporters. We meet virtually every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month 4-6 PM CST. During this time we openly and confidentially learn about pregnancy, lactation, and parenting from each other and/or special guest speakers. Each meeting is attended by at least one certified Indigenous Lactation Counselor (ILC's) and peer mentor.

    Do you have feeding or lactation questions? Do you want to weigh your baby? Do you want to connect with other parents? You can drop into an in-person Lactation Café. They’re free and open to everyone.

    You’ll be able to weigh your baby, meet with a lactation consultant along with other parents, and get answers to all your feeding questions. Drop-in locations include: Methodist Hospital

  • Breastfeeding & Lactation Support Delivered by Allina Health

    While research shows the positive benefits of breastfeeding, it doesn’t always come easily. Our lactation consultants offer support to families and babies learning how to breastfeed. You may request to see a consultant during your stay at The Mother Baby Center or make an appointment after you leave.

    Virtual, as well as in-person, outpatient lactation visits are available at select The Mother Baby Centers. Please call our lactation office to see how we can best support you.

  • Milk Moms

    Milk Moms was established in 1996 to help new moms in their breastfeeding experience. The business was created as a resource for moms to have access to the highest quality equipment and give the choice to choose which brand and style of pump to get through insurance. We have committed ourselves to mom and baby and truly believe you will get the highest quality of service when using Milk Moms.

    Milk Moms specializes in insurance billing of breast pumps. Most insurance companies pay for a breast pump for nursing moms. Feel free to call MILK MOMS anytime at 1-866-MILKMOM (645-5666) and we can assist you in checking your coverage.

    Infant Feeding Q&A with Amma Parenting

    Come as you are to weigh your baby on our scale at our Edina location, ask our IBCLC all your feeding questions and connect with other parents in this laid back 1 hour Q&A.

    Thursdays 1-2pm

    Facilitated by an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), discussions vary each week depending on the questions and concerns parents bring. Common topics that come up are:

    increasing milk production

    returning to work

    introducing a bottle

    managing overproduction

    nipple soreness

    latch and positioning

    exclusive pumping

    starting solids, teething and more

    There is no registration or fee necessary for this class. Just drop in!

    Welcome to Breastfeeding Support Group for Black Moms!

    We are a mom-to-mom breastfeeding support group. We offer encouragement, support and evidence based information through community and friendship to help expectant and nursing moms to reach their breastfeeding goals.

    La Leche League 

    All mothers and mothers-to-be who are interested in breastfeeding are invited to attend our FREE meetings. Some Groups also welcome partners and support persons. And babies are always welcome!
