La Leche League of South Washington County meets virtually on the second Thursday of each month at 6:00pm. Please contact a Leader (contact info below) for access to the meeting link (which changes monthly). All Are Welcome! We are a Family Centered Support Group - partners/caregivers are always welcome to attend. We are Spanish (Martha) and American Sign Language (Barb) friendly. This meeting begins with a breastfeeding discussion topic followed by answering your breastfeeding questions and offering support. Justine Temke is a DONA-certified birth doula, a certified Evidence-Based Birth instructor, and a Certified Lactation Education Counselor (CLEC). She has also been certified in HypnoBirthing, specially trained in postpartum, the “Spinning Babies” method, and provides placenta encapsulation services. Justine volunteers her time as an on-call doula at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury and serves under-privileged moms through Everyday Miracles in Minneapolis.

People's Center Hooyo Project - Minneapolis
“Hooyo” – means mother in Somali.
Hooyo Project is a culturally inclusive group prenatal care model that integrates routine prenatal clinic visits with mindfulness-based therapies, prenatal care and childbirth education. Women more than 20 weeks of gestation are invited to participate in biweekly two-hour visits, with a goal of four to eight pregnant women at each visit. Women are free to attend the group visits in lieu of their individual prenatal visits until they give birth, and conversely, free to return to individual prenatal visits at any point during their pregnancy. The Circle of Healing was designed by Somali women to support Somali women facing postpartum depression and emotional stress. PSI Perinatal Support for Latinx Moms and Birthing People (Online)
This group is for anyone who is pregnant or postpartum (up to two years) and identifies as Latina, Latinx, or Latino. There is no definition or level of being “enough Latinx.” All are welcome who have a familial connection to Latinx culture. This group is in English, so group members will benefit most if they can understand and speak some English (perfection is not required!). 2nd and 4th Thursdays at 2PM. Free, but registration is required.
