Membership:

PPSM is an entirely volunteer-run organization that promotes awareness, education, and advocacy of perinatal mental health issues. Membership dues help fund new and ongoing projects that provide services to our community. We offer the following membership options so that you might support our efforts, and share your expertise! We also offer our professional members additional benefits, including free & low-cost continuing education opportunities, a Facebook consultation group, referrals for services, and more!

Membership Options:


General Membership:  Non-Professional ($20 Annual Fee)

This membership is for students, mothers, fathers, family members or friends of someone with a PMAD who would like to support our work. This amount is tax-deductible. This also includes any professionals who may work with perinatal clients, but do not meet the criteria for professional membership. You do not need to complete the application! Just send an email to Sarah Doll at sarah.a.doll@gmail.com, and let her know you are interested in General Membership. She will send you an invoice.


Professional Membership (see below for descriptions of professionals):

Member benefits + listing on Provider Resource List ($50 Annual Fee)

This membership is for professionals who work with perinatal clients AND meet the criteria for being listed on our Provider Resource List. Information and application materials are below. Please do not make a payment until approval has been made

Listing on Provider Resource List only (FREE)

You are welcome to apply to be listed on our Provider Resource List, and will need to meet the same requirements as our members. This is for Licensed Mental Health, Psychiatric, Integrative or Medical/Healthcare providers who would like to be a resource, but are not interested in membership at this time.  You can change your mind at any time by contacting our Membership Director, Maureen Campion. Requirements for Provider Resource List

  • Licensed Mental Health Professionals (LMFT, LP, LPC/LPCC, LICSW) and Psychiatric Professionals (MD, APRN, PA with advanced training in psychiatry) -- a minimum of 14 CE/CME hours + 2 years of clinical experience with perinatal patients. (Note: If you have your license/certification, but have not fulfilled the 2 years of clinical experience, you may apply at the provisional level, with agreement to consult with one of our listed providers).
  • Integrative (CAIM) providers with education about how to recognize/screen for perinatal mood/anxiety disorders, and wanting the community to be aware of that special training. Examples of integrative providers include doulas, acupuncturists, chiropractors, naturopathic doctors, etc. who work with new and expectant parents and babies -- a minimum of 4 CE/CME hours + 2 years of clinical experience with perinatal patients.
  • Medical/healthcare providers with education about how to recognize/screen for perinatal mood/anxiety disorders, and wanting the community to be aware of that special training. This is for those in fields like Obstetrics/Gynecology, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, etc. who work with new and expectant parents and babies -- a minimum of 6 CE/CME hours + 2 years of clinical experience with perinatal patients. (Note: If you are a prescriber, a part of your CME must be specific to prescribing to pregnant or lactating patients).
Please note:  If you are currently a member, but planning to change your membership option at renewal you will need to contact Sarah Doll and get permission for this change before you can pay your annual dues.

  • The PPSM Resource List is used by many OB-GYNs, Pediatricians, Midwives, Doulas, and other mental health providers within the Twin Cities area for treatment referrals.
  • Having your name listed on the PPSM Resource List will generate referrals, and offer you the opportunity to market your practice in a very affordable way.
  • The PPSM Support & Resource Helpline uses the Resource List to match callers with providers within their area and/or area of expertise.
  • The PPSM Resource List offers a direct link to your personal website to drive more traffic to your personal URL.
  • Free continuing ed, networking opportunities, volunteer opportunities, private consultation, and more!

    As a member of PPSM (PSI-MN), you can also join our parent organization, Postpartum Support International

    All members receive a 10% discount when joining PSI through the PPSM/PSI chapter. You can find PSI member benefits and the link to join here. At the member registration site, enter PSICHAP where it asks for a Promo Code, and your fee will be reduced by 10%. In addition, PSI will give $20 of each member back to PPSM, as we are the State Chapter! Being a PSI member gives you discounted fees for additional trainings, such as the PSI Conference and the PSI 2-day certificate! Please contact Crystal Clancy at info@ppsupportmn.org with questions. Unfortunately, if you are an existing member of PSI, this discount is not available retroactively- but can be used upon renewal of your PSI membership.
