Blooma's New Mama Group offers moms the opportunity to connect with each other, ask questions, share advice, laugh, cry, and talk about life with a new baby. Occasionally, we bring in a guest speaker to offer insight into popular parenting topics. Babies are always welcome, and groups are lead to accommodate all parenting styles. The HCMC Mother-Baby Day Hospital, the 1st of its kind in Minnesota and the 4th in the country, is a unique program for pregnant women and mothers who are experiencing depression, anxiety, or other emotional distress. Mental health treatment is provided in an environment that supports participants as women and mothers, and enhances the mother-baby connection.
The Mother-Baby Perinatal Outpatient Program (POP), like the Mother-Baby Day Hospital, serves pregnant women and mothers of children ages 0-5 years old who are experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder or other emotional distress that make it difficult to; Function at home or at work, Take care of themselves or their baby, Bond and connect with their baby.
POP is considered a step-down or less intensive option than the Mother-Baby Day Hospital. There are a few important differences:
If medication consultation is needed, our staff will help get you connected with an outpatient psychiatrist.
The POP meets 2 hours per day, 3 days per week.
Most women attend POP for 8-12 weeks. This is a longer program than the Mother-Baby Day Hospital.
A particular focus of treatment is on learning skills to manage intense emotions.

Located in West St. Paul, this ongoing group offers education and support for women who are experiencing or are at risk for postpartum depression. Mothers are invited to bring their babies to our meetings. The group meets every Wednesday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Free parking and free drop-in child care are available. FREE.

Our group is here to help you connect with other parents, talk about your experience, and learn about helpful tools and resources as you navigate the feelings that come with the postpartum period. There are so many changes that accompany the birth of your baby, whether you are experiencing increased stress, adjustment to parenting, Baby Blues, relationship stressors, OCD behaviors, social isolation or pregnancy or postpartum depression/anxiety, our group is here to offer you support and resources.

This group is for pregnant women, new moms, and mothers of young children. In this counseling group, new and expecting mothers will learn coping skills to help manage their emotions and those of their children, tolerate day-to-day stressors and stressful life events and to successfully navigate relationships.
Group meets Tuesdays- 4:30 pm - 6 pm and Wednesdays- 10 AM- 11:30 AM in Minneapolis.
This 6 week class focuses on how to care for yourself, so that you can care for your babies in the best possible way. This class will focus on nutrition for healing and total health: mind and body. Topics will include:
-nutrition for postpartum healing and nursing
-baby blues and beyond
-foods that can help boost lactation
-creating a balanced schedule for your life with a new baby
-ways to integrate self-care into your new mom life.
Guest speakers will include a licensed mental health therapist, midwife, lactation consultant, massage therapist, and yoga instructor. This 6-week class is sure to help you reconnect with yourself and give you community resources. Whether you are a first time mom or a mom of many, this class will help you adjust to life with another member of your family! Babies welcome!
